Program Objectives

Educational Meeting for Breast Cancer Advocates

This is a working dinner in which the advocates will receive a preview of the scientific topics to be discussed during the meeting. It will help to clarify and define in broad terms the nomenclature and concepts currently used in the scientific fields of cancer education, epidemiology, and biology.

Plenary Lectures

Plenary lectures will encompass the most relevant features of current knowledge on breast cancer risk education and its relationship to environmental epidemiology, risk assessment, risk communication, environmental carcinogenesis, and biology of the breast during puberty. They will also identify gaps that must be filled in the next five years and beyond.

Mini-Symposia

Mini-symposia will complement topics presented in the plenary lectures for providing an integrated framework of knowledge to the session.

Talk with the Experts

The Talk with the Experts sessions will consist of panel discussions and eduational sessions targeted to the advocacy group. They will facilitate the understanding of topics addressed in the plenary lectures and the mini-symposia.

Poster Session

In the poster session, advocates and young investigators will present their work and ideas in progress. Posters will be displayed from the morning of November 5th until the afternoon of November 6th. Authors will be present to discuss their data on Friday evening, 6:30 – 8:00 pm.
