Call for Abstracts

The Program Committee for the 3rd annual Early Environmental Exposures symposium invites submissions for poster presentations.

This scientific meeting seeks to build on the growing interaction between biologic and epidemiologic lines of research inquiry. Presentations will include the latest scientific findings from the BCERC along with results from investigations in other studies in the field. Community participation and advocacy concerns will continue to be highly integrated into the discussions. The audience for this meeting is expected to be BCERC members; scientists in the area of breast cancer and mammary biology; and community, environmental health, and breast cancer advocates.

Poster presentations must fall in one of the following categories:

  • Recent scientific data
  • Innovative/unique community outreach programs
  • Risk communication efforts
  • Advocacy

Examples of related scientific topics might include regulation of onset of puberty, environmental assessment, mammary gland maturation, gene environment interaction, regulation of mammary carcinogenesis, or environmental risk assessment. Community outreach programs and risk communication efforts should share information regarding target populations, goals and objectives/methods, and mechanisms of evaluation for success. Examples of related advocacy activity might include translation of environmental data into policy and environmental education programs. Poster space is limited and priority for presentation will be based upon relationship to the theme of environmental factors in breast cancer and a representative distribution of topic areas.
