Call for Abstracts

The Program Committee for the 6th annual Early Environmental Exposures symposium invites submissions for poster presentations. This scientific meeting seeks to build on the growing interaction between biologic and epidemiologic lines of research inquiry. Presentations will include the latest scientific findings from the BCERC along with results from other investigations related to the theme of the BCERCs. Community participation and advocacy concerns will continue to be highly integrated throughout the conference. The audience for this meeting is expected to be BCERC members; scientists in the areas of mammary gland biology, breast cancer, pubertal maturation, diet, environmental epidemiology and health communications as well as community, environmental health and breast cancer advocates.

Poster presentations must fall in one of the following categories:

  •  Recent scientific data
  •  Transdisciplinary research approaches/findings
  •  Community outreach/engagement and/or advocacy strategies/programs
  •  Interpreting/communicating research findings to the public
  •  Translating/applying research findings to treatment, prevention and/or policy

Poster space is limited and priority for presentation will be based upon relationship to the themes of environmental factors in pubertal development and/or breast cancer and 2) a representative distribution of topic areas. Non-government organizations (NGOs), students and post-docs conducting BCERC-relevant activities and/or research are encouraged to submit abstracts.
